AKC’s Top Ten List

From ohmidog! - Labrador Retrievers are still No. 1 in America, for the 18th straight year according to registration stats with the American Kennel Club.

Twice as many Labs were registered in 2008 than any other breed.

Also growing quickly in numbers is the bulldog, which made it to the AKC’s Top Ten list last year for the first time in 70 years. The new figures show it has advanced two more spots, to eighth place.

The full list:

1. Labrador Retriever
2. Yorkshire Terrier
3. German Shepherd
4. Golden Retriever
5. Beagle
6. Boxer
7. Dachshund
8. Bulldog
9. Poodle
10. Shih Tzu

Minus the Shih Tzu and Yorkshire, there’s a lot of good trails dogs on the list!

Trucking Duck

OK, this is not exactly a dog story but a delivery truck driver in Minnesota takes his duck to work each day to ride with him.

Yeah, he drives around with a duck feeding it bananas.  I can’t make this up.

Car Reviews for Dog Owners

Check out DogCars.com for reviews on cars from a dog owners perspective.

DogCars.com’s choice for the car of 2008?  The Dodge Caravan.  Not really rugged enough for me, but they make some good arguments for the minivan.
